Student Safeguarding and Welfare

Statement by Founder Mathusha Chandrakumaran | Last updated: November 2026

“Learn High is committed to the safety, protection and welfare of every student in all one-to-one online lessons and academic mentoring sessions.”

1. Safeguarding Commitments

At Learn High, the safety and well-being of every student is our primary consideration. All teachers and academic mentors are contractually bound by our safeguarding, conduct and reporting rules.

We verify every teacher’s identity, academic qualifications and subject suitability before any lessons commence.

2. Background Checks and Teacher Vetting

Background checks depend on the teacher’s location and role: DBS checks for eligible UK-based roles, and local criminal record checks or equivalent documents for teachers overseas, where available.

Learn High does not represent that every teacher holds an Enhanced or Basic DBS certificate.

3. Online Lesson Standards & Conduct

All one-to-one online lessons are conducted with professional standards. Parents and guardians are welcome to discuss lesson arrangements and observe sessions in accordance with agreed guidelines.

4. Raising a Concern

If you have any questions, concerns or safeguarding matters you wish to raise, please contact our dedicated enquiry address immediately:

All safeguarding reports and welfare concerns are treated with immediate priority, strict confidentiality and direct oversight by Mathusha Chandrakumaran.
